yea they were booted for tire guy comments. which is dumb cause tire guy was a single post member(asks one questions and never uses his account again, using up a name and slowing the system) and has no other activity which could mean he never even read the reply'sHis partner-in-crime is also banned. Probably from their comments in the Tires section. They will be allowed out of the box in a couple days or so. No big deal guys.
It wasn't dumb. It was a good call. This is a public thread on a public forum. You don't have to be a member to read all the useful information on this site. It shows the public that it's not a free-for-all site like most others out there. Let's not jack Koda's thread anymore because I bet he's spent some good time working on that truck of his.yea they were booted for tire guy comments. which is dumb cause tire guy was a single post member(asks one questions and never uses his account again, using up a name and slowing the system) and has no other activity which could mean he never even read the reply's
nothing with rust passes w.v. inspection , thats what duct tape WAS for , now they just use that expanding foam for body workThat truck would never pass our state inspection. I would have just used it as a field car until it quit, then scrapped it.
you would be surprised at what rots in this state and what doesnt , at work we have the carpenters truck , never had brake work done to it except new drums and shoes 2 years ago , we took it out of service this week because the frame is rotted away in a spot on one side and on the other side the shackle mount is 3/4 of the way gone , yet it still has all the factory linesYou have really really got your hands full man. If those frame rails are that rotted, your brake lines are prob on the verge of popping as well. The hardware in your drum brakes is probably rotted out too. The leaf spring shackles are not much better off, as well as the leafs and the brackets. It is a real shame that this truck has so little miles on it. I think the work to make this thing see the road again is going to be very expensive and very taxing on you man. And a 8.8 should be the very last thing on your mind man. I doubt it very highly you will ever break whats under there. And even so, I think its too wide as well as you would need a custom driveshaft for the size u- joint it would take, If I remember correctly it is different. And dont forget you need to match the gearing to whats in the front rear as well.
how is that possible? in nj the brake lines rot first then the bolts you need to get off most of the time then the rockers and/or nerf bars, then the rest of the body then the frame on old chevys mostlyyou would be surprised at what rots in this state and what doesnt, we took it out of service this week because the frame is rotted away in a spot on one side and on the other side the shackle mount is 3/4 of the way gone , yet it still has all the factory lines
you got me how it happens , my stepdads 2000 F150 7700 we just sold was our plow truck , to core support and cab floor were rotting out , the driverside nerf bar was half off and the undercarriage was literally all rust , this truck got run all winter long in the salt every year for 9 years and never got washed from november to march , yet it still had all the factory brake lines , hell we even had to change the exhaust 4 or 5 times in 9 year because the pipes rotted outhow is that possible? in nj the brake lines rot first then the bolts you need to get off most of the time then the rockers and/or nerf bars, then the rest of the body then the frame on old chevys mostly
