Hi. I'm Mike, and I am a Ranger owner...
I am an Emissions/Engine Tech that works in the oil and natural gas industry. I do exhaust stack testing on big industrial prime movers on pipelines. I am also a Colorado Native. I am looking for some buddies that love 1st and 2nd generation Rangers Like I do.
So I have been here lurking at the Ranger Station for over a year, checking out all the resources here. I figured it was time to get the old truck out of the garage and get it running again then join up. Yes I did get it back on the road again after it sitting in the garage for 7 years. (Yes it was well preserved.) Took a lot of parts to get the EEC-IV up to snuff and a new Cat. Passed the Colorado air test with flying colors! (On the third try! LOL!)
I am the proud owner of this 1985 Ranger 4x4 with 2.8L. I can also say I am the original owner who bought her new in 1986 off the Sill-Terhar Ford Lot in Broomfield Colorado. A mere $9700 with dealer installed show bar, lights and a push bar. It also included an undercoating to stop rust and to this day has only a little on the drip lips on the cab windows, original paint, with only one dent in the drivers rear quarter panel where I killed a cow elk on the way over Red Mountain Pass at 3am 10 years ago. Yep, she's a long bed with duel tanks!
Engine is stock. Has Superlift 6" with all super-runner parts and steering. Difs will be equipped with 4.56 gears, 32" Big O's and RS9000 shocks. Have plans for Bushwhacker cutouts that are in boxes in my crawlspace as I hate body lifts.
We did 114,XXX miles together and she will always be the only truck for me.
Sure am glad to have her running again. Boy did I miss her....
Here's her picture so you can get to know her.
