radious arm bushings

okay so the radius arm bushings on my 91 4x4 are shot.. so i went to autozone and got a set but i noticed that the bushings are hard plastic.. shouldnt they be like rubber or polyurethane so that they can give a little or are the supposed to be plastic? just making sure

The radius arm busings I got at Napa felt kind of like hard plastic too. I installed them 2 years ago and they're still doing great.
