Random Starting Issues This Passed Month 4.0l OHV

Hey guys, lately I have been having rare starting issues where the truck won't start right away or is taking a longer time to start. This has happened about 3 or 4 times in the passed month only. I'm not sure where to begin that's why I'm posting this.

I had a full tune up about 2 years ago, plugs, wires, all filters, air breather etc. Once it starts it runs fine no stalling. Just curious where to check first. I could pull the plugs I suppose, but it's too dam cold out. . Any ideas on what to check first would be helpful. My engine is 4.0L OHV. 1993.

I just went out to start it, it kicked right over been sitting overnite in the cold. I usually wait till I here the fuel pump engage fully for a few seconds to start it and have had really no issues. However sometimes when I just start it too quickly without hearing the pump engage it seems to give me a problem with regards to giving the fuel pump a chance to pump fuel.
Is this normal?

Check fuel pressure bleed down. Fuel pressure should stay up indefinitely. Before you start, cycle the key 3 or 4 times to pressurize the system then start.

Thanks, where is the bleed down location to check it?

Put a fuel pressure gage on fuel rail. It’s ok to leave on. Before you start check the gauge and see if it’s holding pressure.

Is there a fitting for it? And can you send a link so I can get the gauge? Are these gauges all universal?

On the fuel rail there is a port that looks like a air connection to fill your tire. It’s called a schrader valve A fuel pressure gauge from the auto parts store will screw onto it. The one you showed should work splendidly.
