Hey y'all.
So, my frame has broken :(
I've tried to find out by searching and I'm coming up blank, does anyone know if the REAR frame sections are the same on the 2 and 4 wheel drives? I'm well aware the fronts are not interchangeable.
I'm talking same cab and bed length. I've just got a 4x2 available that's been in a front end wreck.

Hey heres an interesting thing, I was told today that the same company that made all those crappy Toyota frames is the same company that manufactured the ranger frames. Too bad Ford wouldn't step up and offer frame replacement. Oh well.

Careful what you wish for. Most the Toyotas in your era got bought back and junked because the dies to stamp new frames were missing.

Also, as I understand the Toyota issue it wasn't the frame itself but the chemical that was put on them to keep the rust in check that was faulty.

Anyway, yes, the rear section is interchangeable. The front section where the front axle mounts is where the differences are.

I found a good rear section from a local salvage yard for $250. So I'll have it all fixed up soon.
