Im needing some help I have a 98 4x4 ranger and my inner tie rods and lower ball joints are wore out and I have the parts and the front wheels off my truck. I was looking at the lowers and to me they look like they need pressed out my dad said they make a special tool to pull them out. And on the inners im unsure. Do you just take the boot off and untighten them?
Im kinda stuck at the moment and I dont want to have to drive my moms jeep anymore then I have to this week. haha.

The special tool would be a pitman arm puller...which you won't need. You can use a large socket and a hammer. Ryda said the way he does it and the Ford TSB update said to do it was like this:
Here is the procedure directly from the Ford Shop manual for a 2006 4x4

1) Support vehicle on hoist
2) Remove the wheel knuckle. For additional information refer to wheel knuckle in this section.

Wheel knuckle, removal:

1) Remove outer tie rod end nut and seperate tie rod from knuckle
2) Support lower control arm with jack
3) Remove and disscard lower balljoint cotter pin and nut
4) remove upper balljoint pinch bolt and nut, remove wheel knuckle

Balljoint:

1) Remove and disscard the lower balljoint snap ring
2) Using the special tools (balljoint press) remove the lower balljoint
3) to install reverse the procedure.
