I've gone through most of the tech library to try and find what i need but im not sure. For starters, when i start my truck in the morning to let it warm up, it tends to jump rpms from 500-800, and it almosts sounds like it's breathing. I am going to pull apart the MAF and clean it, but what i want to know is there anything else i should be looking for?

Automatic
idle air control valve, located on your intake manifold. It has a large black plug, disconnect it. I think it is 2 10mm bolts to take it off. At this point you will see two holes in this sensor fill them with carb cleaner, brake cleaner etc and let them soak for about 5-10 min and rinse them out, repeat if they are really dirty. I would almost bet money this is your problem.

+1 on this. Some people have said though that even cleaning it didn't help and they had to replace it.

sorry its been so long. i changed out the plugs and wires maybe a couple years ago, i just threw in some fuel injector cleaner for shits and grins, i pulled and cleaned the MAF, and it was super dirty, and nothing really has changed. Im thinking im gonna pull this but i have never changed the fuel filter, but i don't think it's a fuel problem. It doesn't do it when im driving, just when idling, so im thinking it's an air problem.

My credo
Fix it till its broke!
Try disconnecting the maf and running it to see it helps, if it does your maf is no good. Clean or replace your Air filter. run some seafoam through the brake booster line. Maybe clean your throttle body and check for vacuum leaks!
