Well, I just got back from a smog, and the tech said my baby is dumping way more fuel than she should be. I guess now I don't have much choice but to start throwing parts at her. Where do you guys reckon I should start? Thanks in advance.

Fuel Pressure Regulator would be my first guess.
After that, maybe the temp sensor.
TPS would be another good one to check.

mine had that problem, turned out to be the map sensor and a dirty intake

the smog tech showed me the numbers and pointed out that it is dumping an extremely higher amount of fuel than it should be, plus he noted it's causing a noticeable miss. And yeah, my tailgate has always been pretty sooty between washes too.

noticeable rich could be caused by the miss, I'd pull plugs first, look at them for condition, and run a compression check. next thing would be to make sure it was really warmed up and pull codes. Finally dump a couple of bottles of injector cleaner in the tank, run it for a while, then sniff the tailpipe for gas fumes/smell when running. THEN, I'd think about buying parts.
