This isn't really a problem...just something strange I've noticed with my truck. It seems when it's colder outside the thing runs warmer by what the temp gauge says. Over the winter the needle on the gauge stayed around the "M"....once it warmed up it stays more on the "A" on "Normal". The other night it cooled off so I was running the heater and noticed it was up on the "M" again. The only thing I can figure is that the thermostat stays closed with the heater running making the coolant temp higher at the temp sensor.....does anyone else's truck do this?

I've noticed mine doing something like that from time to time. Weather doesn't matter, it just does whatever the hell it feels like sometimes. Usually it's at the bottom of the L in normal. Other times, between the L and A in normal. That's usually when my thermostat opens too so I've always assumed that's 195*
