Looking at doing this swap and everything I read says that the A/C evaporator unit will interfere with the right side of the SBF. I am trying to reason this out, since I had an 84 B2 years ago. It uses the Cologne 2.8V6, which is an offset engine, ie: crankshaft is offset to the drivers side, thereby meaning that the right side of engine has more on that side (referencing crankshaft) than other side. The SBF is a symmetrical engine therefore, some of the right side of it will be moved back toward the center of the drivetrain.
Has anyone had experience with this interference issue, and if so what are the details and fixes?
I already have a rear sump (I believe) oil pan from an Explorer. I need to get the SBF C4 bell housing, and mount to the existing C5 auto. (I was going to get an aftermarket torque converter)
