Seatbelts, people. Wear 'em!

This happened at my local ORV Park yesterday. I was at work instead of playing. As the Jeep rolled, the roof panel popped off and the driver flew out. Everyone is OK.

The park requires seatbelts to be worn and has many signs posted as a reminder. Buckle up, Buttercup!

That last picture is deceiving. It came to rest in a pretty stable position.

Funny thing is… I’m not certified to operate a forklift, but I can train and certify anyone else to operate one.
My trainer status never expires or needs to be re-evaluated, but an operator status needs to be re-certified every 3 years. It’s been 4 years since I was re-certified.

A seat belt will also help you stay in place even when the vehicle stays up right.

Ive always been amazed at how stupid people can be with forklifts.

Ive ran them...its not hard. Really its common sense. Back and forth, up and down, side shift, repeat.

Oh and dont try running wide open with 4500lbs on the forks 15 ft in the air.

I'll tell you a tough one. I was working on a high rise multi-use building and they had just layed the buck hoist down, then realized they'd left a scissor lift they needed to go up there.
I had just left actually and on the way home stopped for a coffee and to look at the paper. It was like a restaurant/bar and news was on a tv not far away up over the bar.
I noticed a few shots of the building I was working on but that wasn't really unusual.
The next morning I got to work and the whole place was shut down waiting on OSHA, someone had fallen the day before, after I had left.
He was in a hurry to get that lift up there so he could go, I think his wife may have been waiting on him also.
He got the scissor lift on a platform and rode up with it, not a safety harness or anything. The crane operator moved the platform against the side of the building but it was a bit lower than the floor, so instead of riding up on the floor it pushed the platform away, and left him and the scissor lift standing on thin air, 8 floors up, only seconds from the rocky ground.
Well, he did get out of there early after all :/

Yeah. But it's a whole "thing" to go through. Pick a semi-rrsponsuble employee. Send hime to "train the trainer" training. Then get him certified as forklift driver trainer. Then there's a mini Sno running around the shop. The whole mess goes downhill fast.
