Hi. In trying to make my 2.0 run right I have come across several issues, wiped cam, bad lifters, etc, that lead me into a full on rebuild. While apart I ported the head and stock intake a little. I am going all aftermarket with the valvetrain, considering a lunati cam with 218/218 at .050. Whether I go with that or something milder will depend mostly on how high I can wing the stock bottom end. For that cam to be any good I would think the motor would see 6500, but I dont want to bother with aftermarket rods and pistons and I dont know if stock stuff will hold up. Any knowledge on the matter will help me. thanks.

Your bottom end isn't really going to be a limiting factor on how high you can spin it... Your valvetrain will be...

Valvetrain will definitely be fine. I take it from what you say that the bottom end will hold up over 6k? If so, I am going ahead with the cam I mentioned.
