Same here, i come on here daily just to look at everyone builds!! Looks really good!! when is the swap going to take place?
Well we have to buy a 3rd vehicle in the household first...fall would be the soonest at this point.

No I was kind of just joking as I looked through my own thread and saw just my own replies, looked a little pathetic. Did buy some POR-15 off of amazon. Hope to weld up those hub spacers and get them painted though I haven't decided on a stock wj tie rod vs custom. I think I,all go stock from a junkyard right now

So here in KS we're bracing for Snowpocalypse 2.0 (2nd 10"+ snow storm in 5 days), and my wife's company got her a hotel room for tonight, so...

That meant more alone time at home and an open spot in the garage. So I welded on my JKS flanges to my knuckles tonight, and re-primered them.

I would have photo evidence, but my wife has the camera with her. They're having a special dinner for the (retirement home) residents tomorrow, so she wants to take pictures. So maybe later this week. Though maybe my POR-15 will come in this week and I might just wait to take pictures of the finished product.

Waiting for the one side to dry to flip over and paint the back. This is the first time I've ever used POR-15. Thick stuff! this is just one coat as I said. I'll probably end up rattle canning the axle itself due to cost, but I wanted an excuse to try out this POR-15 stuff.

I'm debating bolting up the knuckles just yet. I might go to the O'Reiley's parts counter and mix and match some parts to do a mock-up. I haven't quite got 100% answers on what works.

I think I'll end up with 2001+ TJ unit bearings with Sport track rotors to center up the rotor within the caliper the best. I really want to avoid any sort of spacers/washers at all costs if I can.

Use Chassis saver. It's the same cost but coats even better. ($45/ qt.). One quart lasted me my whole frame, 4 axles, and a bunch of other shit. You might also want to look into the rustoleum hammered black brush on paint for the smaller stuff. It coats great and lasts a loooong time ($15/qt)

Here's what it looks like (It dries a dark silverish color) :

Got some material to truss the front axle over the weekend. Hope to throw down some :icon_welder: this weekend.

Unfortunately past that, it will probably be awhile for much progress, as I'm saving for my wheels as of right now. It might be May before I start throwing hubs, rotors and calipers on.

My todo list but dont have to right now is to beef up my D30 such as trussing and gusseting the C's along with the top and bottom arm mounts. First I need to go over all of it and get new ball joints on it (soooo looking forward to doing that). Basiclly, strip it down to where I can replace the axle seals, driveside is leaking :annoyed:

Got the top tube shaved down to tack it into place for the truss. Will post pics when done. Plan to put a filler plate in the gap too
