i love my Bii, but im getting to the point to where i really need something a little bigger. but i still want my Bii :)

im into krawling and anything offroad, but i still want a capable DD that can reach and maintain highway speeds with fair ease. unlike my 2.9

right now i have a freshly rebuilt 2.9L, newly rebuilt FM145, BW1350manual, 8.8rear 3.73LSD, D28TTB with 3.43open. 3inbody lift, 5in suspension lift, sitting on 33x12.50 pro comp m/t's.

im looking into going with a ford 1ton drivetrain started by a 302 swap. i want to keep it a manual transmission and manual Tcase. and manual hubs.

maby a 1993/1994 F350? i think they came with Dana60's front and rear, a5speed manual and a 7.3L turbo diesel? i could find one with a blown motor for cheap and use it as a parts truck.

i want coil sprung front and rear with triangulated 4link front and rear, or maby a 3link with a panhard in front.

anyone have any suggestions or comments? i know the axles are going to be alot wider, but i am willing to resize.

thanks, kolton

T-5 or ZF are the best 5 speeds for the 302. ZF is a heavy duty trans, it fits, but you gotta chop the floor a bit. T-5 fits a bit better.

If you want to make it a dedicated crawler I'd go with the ZF, it has a nice low first gear. My dad's truck has a ZF with 4.11 gears in the back, 1st is basically granny gear.
