Tired of Buying the Same Part!!!

Hello gentlemen.

I have been looking for slotted cross drilled brake discs for my 2003 Ranger. I bought one brand with a hub assembly only to receive something with a hub assembly that didn't fit. I returned them and ordered a new set from a different brand, Detroit axle. Sure enough those did not fit either. No doubt both were manufactured somewhere in China, then branded differently. Do any of you know where I can buy the right thing?

Your truck has a unique knuckle and spindle. Doesn't surprise me that the coil sprung 2WD brake parts don't fit.

I think you need parts specifically for torsion bar 2WD or Edge package.

I was pretty certain that a 2003 (or XXXX year) 2wd rotor was a 2wd rotor, and no differentiation between coil or torsion bar 2wds.

Edit: Checking my go to parts reference site (which is usually correct, but to always), RockAuto only lists 2wd or 4wd for 2003. Nothing about torsion bar or coil spring on the 2wd stuff.

The old part, shown on the right, has a smaller hub than the new part.

I edited my above post while you were replying. Same site also lists same bearings for both suspensions. I think your suppliers are supplying the wrong parts. Two suppliers in a row, they might have some interchange information mixed up somewhere. That's why I like picking out my own parts rather than filling out order forms and hpoing they send the right thing.

Don't want to insult Lefty, but now that you said it, it does look like a possibility.

Between the lighting, angle of parts, and quality of the picture, I wasn't even seeing the picture well enough to tell the difference.

I had assumed the new would swap out for the old, that I could take the old one off and put the new one on. I am a Nube

I wasn't sure about the torsion bar suspension... I know it has a unique spindle.

But yeah Lefty... you're gonna have to swap your bearings and seals onto the new rotors.
