Hey all, It's been a while. I've been finishing up the beetle and this weekend, my friends wanted to go to the drag strip. I figured what teh hell and went. The bug did pretty well for a 37 year old beetle. It ran a 18.568s 1/4 mile with a top speed of 73.12mph. It felt a lot faster than that. The 1st and 2nd gears are really quick. It did the first 60' in 2.715s. My dad's 3 series bmw did that in 2.123, so I'm not much slower off the line. There was one problem resulting from the 5 passes I did, I spun a brake drum. Partially because I didn't tighten the crown nut enough. I fixed that Saturday and it's back on the road. anyway, here are the pics:

My favorite pass:
I'll give you a guess who won. haha
The spun drum, notice the lack of teeth on the inside:
My new brake drums:
All in all, It was a fun weekend. I also finished a good chunk of the interior (pics in my build thread).
