While stabbing shifter back in - guess i bumped the e -clip and was unable to regain control of clip had a spare top plate borrowed parts from it and well .....unable to bring the pieces back together (spring, flat washer, spring retainer. (looking into the shifter hole this item im refering to is located top left and almost completely tucked up under "housing").
I feel i now need to drop tranny and ????????????.

Any Ideas...........Please.

My credo
Failing is easy. Everyone can do it.
If I'm thinking about this correctly? You had a small metal object fall into the transmission?

Pick up a very strong magnet (prefer one with a LED flashlight at the magnet) and start fishing. You might get lucky I hope!

If it fell all the way to the bottom (and you can be sure that it did) of the transmission then you should not have to worry about it. You may find it on the drain plug eventually.
