I know the crank to flywheel has to be torqued, but does the torque converter to the flywheel have to be torqued. If so, how much poundage do I need for an 86 ranger with a 2.9.

I have looked around for information first, but I found nothing.

I am ready to put the starter on, but I need to hold off if I need to torque these bolts which is why I came here.

Thanks for the quick replies,
Ross

25ft/lb should be fine.

Fly wheel is used for a clutch/standard transmission

You are bolting the torque converter to a "flex plate", you may be able to get the exact specs using that part description

You go until the engine starts to spin, then hold it still and go a little more. It's not a torque critical part, so doing it by feel is fine. What is most important is making sure the converter comes up and is in contact with the flex plate.
