So my credit card hates me. But I made an impulse buy today at the Hobby Shop. I even let the nice lady upsell me on a second battery.

And I hadn't even had it an hour and I already ordered up the stainless steel low crawler gear set.

Here's my unboxing

I can tell you it's worth it. Everything works ok. It's well designed. And affordable because it's smaller than the 1:10 scale stuff. The articulation is amazing.

I already took off the roll bar. I was thinking of using foam to make a realistic looking old janky 70s style camper to put in the back 🤣

I put together a little bronco earlier this year using a maisto die cast model and a micro barrage.. super fun.

Styrene would work really well for making a scale camper!

That's super cool. I love stuff like this. Very creative. I challenge you to get a second body for it and get to work on making it look like it just did the Rubicon.... 30 times. During a war

Hard plastic bodies are good for that.. Heat em up a little and its easy to make nice looking dents

So I started on an indoor crawling course. The cardboard is layed out. Next, I'll be adding foam bits to emulate rocks. And then I'll paint the whole thing.

Well, this hobby is addictive.
So far, I've got new low range metal gears for the gearbox, new extended metal shocks, a brass transmission mount, and now I got a new complete set of aluminum axle tubes with metal gears and metal extended axles.
One thing is for sure, this truck is going to be a beast.

For anyone interested, I just learned today at the hobby shop that next month there's a new TRX4M coming out in a 79 Ford, in Blue and Black. With brown coming a few months after that. So my kid is getting a black one. I put my order in today

So this is getting out of hand. I've got so many upgrades now I just got another chassis to put all my old parts into. Well they're technically brand new because this thing is only a week old.

So this is the Injora Tarantula kit for using TRX4M parts with. And it's very capable. Took about 2 hours to fully build it from scratch. Now, as the new parts arrive, the Chevy will only have the original body and frame rails. Everything else is new parts. Even the lighting and the electronics.

This Injora crawler is essentially a full on Traxxas TRX4M High Trail. So it's intended for the Bronco/Defender chassis, but in my case, the suspension is stretched because the High Trail is longer. And I feel like that's helping me crawl a bit better.

So I haven't been able to get the new 79 Ford yet, and I wanted to secure a decent xmas gift for my youngest kid. So, a black Bronco it is. This will be good for sharing batteries, tools and parts. This way my kid can capitalize on the extra stuff I have laying around

The only original parts on this R/C are the 2 frame rails, battery box and the bumpers and bumper mounts. And of course the body. I'm waiting till I drive it to tally the whole cost of the build. So far with what's there, you're looking at about $180 CAD.

Still waiting for the CNC aluminum Axle housings and hardened steel axles, stainless driveshafts, receiver/ecm combo, remote, some LED lighting kits. As parts arrive I'm adding them to the build.

In the meantime, I ended up getting both kids each a TRX4M Bronco for Xmas presents. One black, one red. I'm really looking forward to having family rock crawling outings. Nobody left out, it'll be really fun
