I gave up on the turbo block I was as originally going to use. I'm using the original block/crank out of the ranger. I'll use the crank sensor for the microsquirt to run batch fire and wasted spark LS truck coils. I got the block stripped today. 250k on the engine and it looked surprisingly good. The crank just needs polishing. I'm a big fan of the smaller journal blocks. The smaller journal means the bearing surface speed is slower at a given RPM. setting up the microsquirt on this is easy. I don't think I'll ever use a turbo block again.

I was tied up with my SVO project most of the weekend so I didn't get much done on the ranger. I did get the rear axle pulled out of the bronco. I played around with axle placement and wheelbase options. I think this is where I'm going to end up. It's at 107" and the front is pushed as far forward as I can go without relocating the turn signals.

EFR 6258 came in today. I am going to be traveling for a bit so it will be a couple weeks before I get anything done on the truggy.

Life has been getting in the way of progress lately. I did manage to get the valvetrain finished up on the head. These 2.3's are a little finicky. The cam has a .100" smaller base circle.

My high steer knuckles showed up from Solid Axle today.

I need to do a lot of cleaning on the axle housing before I can start welding, but I got the back brace to fit nice and snug. I cut the c wedges of the front axle as well. I have a lot of work to do with the wire wheel, but I can start working out suspension design soon.

Started working on the cage. The back of the cab isn't straight up and down. I wanted my B pillar to follow the contour of the cab. I'm happy with how it turned out.

Thanks. Things got slowed down because of a custody battle over my son. Looks like I won't be getting an ARB or RCV's for the front right now, but my lunchbox locker will get it out on the trails.

I honestly don't have a target hp in mind. I'll have enough injector and turbo to hit 400 hp but I won't push it that hard on pump gas. I should have a conservative 350 hp, but I'll be happy if it does a good job turning the tires.

I cut some of the floor out to run a support tube from slider to slider that will tie into the frame. I like the triangulation this gives me. I'll be able to tie the seat mounts and seatbelts to this. I won't finish weld the sheetmetal to this until I get the drivetrain mounted to make sure everything is going to clear.

Thanks. I'm trying to build a stout foundation, but keep it light at the same time. It's tough to do.
