I know I'm quiet // been quiet, BUT... I wanted to say I'm proof that if you search, you can prevent headaches.

The leaf spring hanger ( front side of the axle ) finally ripped off the frame. Through SEARCHING the forums, I was able to find not only that it's common, but ebay has my solution.

This is just my way of saying thanks for all the information you've all put into the forums that I'm slowly leeching from your databases. :D

If I had money, and y'all were local, beers'd be on me. :icon_thumby:

Thanks! :)

**EDIT** I see what you were asking now.. I picked poor wording. IF I was getting the total kit on Ebay, it'd cost about 130 bucks... but since I'm doing it like I mentioned below just to get by... well, read on. X) X)
**END**
If you search it, it will come....

or something like that.... ;)

If I do it on the cheap end, AutoZone has the front hangers for 20 bucks... I'm gonna have to buy just that hanger, and see if I can get by reusing the bushing... if not, another 13 for the bushing. This'll be one of my first major tasks on a vehicle... and I get to play with my angle grinder. W00t! AND my Sawzall. Double w00t.

And maybe even :beer::D

LOL @ search and act. That's funny. X)

It sucks that alot of forum software isn't real prominent with where it puts it's feature buttons... like search. Which I think should be a big button with blinking red and blue lights around it to attract peoples attention to it.

Or a giant beer can. Enough people already look for answers there anyway.

OK,, ... this is the 4th time I've heard of this happening to a 90's era Ranger. My friend's 93 and the lonely yappaholic guy working nights at the gas station where I get my cigarettes... both of them had the end of the leaf spring punch a hole in the bed because they kept driving it like that. Then two guys in this forum in the short time I've been on here.

Maybe there oughta be a "sticky" thread in the suspension section for this. It could be called "BROKEN SPRING HANGERS". It only seems to happen to us who live in the Chicago area, LOL... makes you wonder WTF they're putting on the roads around here in the winter. It ain't salt, it's something else. I wouldn't be surprised if it was sulfuric acid.
