Alright guys, I need some help-

I need to use my truck on friday to tow a vehicle 240 miles round trip. Something inside my auto locking hub exploded though and I am worried it could cause damage to a wheel bearing or other components- here is a picture of what happened:

How long have you been driving it like that, and do you plan to lock it in for any reason with the load onyour truck?

I honestly dont know, I went off roading and got stuck- after that I inspected them and noticed that- so it could have been for the past 10k miles, or it could have been for 5 miles

I have no intentions of using 4wd during the trip

If your not using it during the trip then you should be fine.

If you are really worried about it. remove the auto hub cams and the loose parts of course => then put the hub back on and the axles can be turned on or off but will only spin in the hub.

my $.02, go get some mannies. much better than those crappy auto lockers. autos are nice and convenient, but they fail too easily.

Like Nhaz says, remove the cams and reinstall the hubs and the wheels.

To remove the "Cams" remove the clip and the splined washer, remove the cam
(And any thin shims behind it) and reinstall the splined washer and clips.

It is critically important to reinstall the splined washer and clip because there's
a little anti-rotation key inside the nut, that the splined washer holds in.

and the clip holds the splined washer on.
