After some research I was liking the BDS leveling kit as it is supposed to give you less angle on the ball joints and CV's. I put a Truxxx strut spacer lift on my old Sport Trac four years ago, the first two years had no issues, the last two years my upper ball joints didn't last a year and replaced both of them twice.
On the other hand, last night the wife got out before I pulled in the garage and said that even the new shorter radio antenna was close. Raising just the front might not affect it that much but I was thinking about a leveling kit and 265/70-17 BFG A/T's when the OE tires wear out. Gonna have to measure that carefully. I know Jim said that 265/70-17's fit on the Loan Ranger with no lift.
I'm learning the Blue Toof and steering wheel controls, owner's manual isn't much help.
Stock radio has crappy sound and no CD player. Looks like Crutchfield has replacement speakers.
I learned that the tailgate locks with the power locks. Not sure if I like that. Can't find a way to turn it off.
Poked around today and still can't figure out how to remove the rear seatbacks.
Pros:
It's quiet.
New car smell.
Longer bed than my Sport Trac. Easily dropped a stepladder and my longer window cleaning pole in yesterday without having to get creative like I used to do.
Great gas mileage. Averaged 20 mpg on my first two tanks. The Sport Trac was getting long in the tooth and lucky to average 14 mpg.
