Transmission pump is working. Won’t move in any gear. But can hear a rpm change when you go through the gears. Has a little high pitched whine when truck is running.
ANY CLUE WHAT IS GOING ON?

Have you done any pressure testing?

There has to be some info on pressure testing on the web.

Had the same issue with my 07 4.0 Mustang with a 5R55 trans. Which is pretty much the same as the 4R44 with an additional gear making it a five speed. Drove it to work one fine day, backed it into a spot. Came out to go home at midnight, wouldn't move. Got it towed to a friend's shop. A previous rebuild did a bad job of it, and it basically grenaded internally. OOPS!!

Hope that didn't happen to yours.

My 98 Ranger is turning 193,000 soon. Never had a single problem with the transmission. But, I have changed the fluid and filter pretty regularly.

Mine is right at 200k miles. First transmission problem. But it happened as it went to fifth. Felt like the shaft hit the floorboard. Then. No gears. But but rpm will actually increase when you shift through the gears
