Here is what I currently use to go wheeling. It does fairly well considering its not much more than a lightened Bronco on 35's with stock gearing. It has a 300ci inline 6, C6 trans, and NP208 t-case.
In the very near future:
-Softer, Longer Coil Springs
-Heim'd, Extended Radius Arms
-Welded D50 Center Section Swap w/ Stub Shaft (4.10s)
-Lincoln Lock the rear and swap in 4.10s
-Remove overload spring from leaf spring packs
-F-250 Shock mount mod with longer shocks
I would say I have 70% of the parts to do the listed modification, the only thing I am really missing is time.
This is the Bronco when I picked it up for $500
Pulled the motor to replace rear main seal and upgrade to the EFI dual exhaust manifolds. Also took some time to clean it up and give it a new look.
Before
After
Built a set of half doors for it
Gutted the interior and moved all my electronics inside
Shakedown off-road run
The old college try
Fail
