I need a little help with a trailer light problem that I have. I put new LED, submersible trailer lights on my ATV trailer and for whatever reason, the turn signals and stop lights do not work. But the parking lights work perfectly.

I checked the pig tail, at the truck, and I'm only getting voltage to the parking lights. My truck lights work fine though... everything... blinkers, stoplights and brake lights.

Could the wires for the blinkers and brake lights be burned out?

Any suggestions?

The splice where the trailer connector is spliced into the harness is often problematic. Pull it apart and redo the connections.

Your ranger has a separate circuit for trailer lights, check your fuses, chances are you blew one while hookup...

yup, agreed. Most of the newer trucks have separate circuits for trailer lights. This way, if you smoke the trailer fuses, you at least still have truck lights. Also, make sure you didnt accidentally pinch a wire between the light housings and the trailer frame. That can really frustrate a guy when you keep popping fuses.

I did not know that. I just assumed that it was all tied to the truck lights, like the older trucks that I've had.

I will bet that is what happened... thanks! :icon_cheers:

All of that looked good. After voltage testing, that was my next step.

And both fuses are blown. I'll have to stop by O'reilly's on the way to lunch. I don't have any of the mini fuses.

Glad you were able to find the problem, this should fix it...As a precaution don't have your lights on when you plug your trailer lights up, I've blown fuses this was as well...

FWIW, but one of those big packs of fuses, it NEVER hurts to have quite a few of them around...
