Found a bunch of threads on the topic. not found a photo (yet)

"Trust me I'm an engineer" doesn't apply to me.. I no longer trust myself on the little things.

So if someone has the right photo out of thousands that show pad clips please link it here? thanks!:dunno:

i dont have one but i can explain it. on the right clip in the picture, the flat spot with the tab that sticks in, goes onto the bottom of the brake pad, the tab that sticks in helps hold the clip on the pad. the part that swoops around and comes off at an angle compresses and puts pressure against the pad once installed.

i always put the bottom in first and push the pad down, then slide the top in.

if that makes sence, if not i can take a picture for you later.

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
I'll try to remember to get a photo tomorrow while putting my front end back together. I think I know what clips you're referring to.

Oh and the clip barely stays on the pad until it's in place.

bend that retaining tab in. mine are hard to get off after i did that. in fact they stay on the pad after being kicked all around the floor when i tear the hub assembly apart after wheeling.
