I was wondering how I can submit some info about the LED for the Tail/Turn lights.

The tech forum says to install a resistor in line so the turn signals will flash properly, a easier thing to do is to buy a electronic turn signal flasher, they are like 10 to 12 dollors, and we used them all the time on 18wheelers, they don't care how many lights are hooked up, in fact they will flash with just the dash board light working.

I had a Kenworth that had 6 turn lights on each side and that is NOT counting
the trailor turn signal lights and they didn't flash super fast.

Just wanted to add this to the forum so if someone doesnt want to cut wires they can use this instead.

So on every year ranger you need to modify the wiring with a resistor to be able to use an led bulb in the turn signal?

If you don't they will blink super fast just like if a bulb was burnt out,

Yeah I am interested in this now, how do you do it. What flasher do you need and how do you install it?

The electronic flasher plugs in like the one you have now, I changed out the bulbs in my wife’s car for LED’s and used one of these flashers, it’s a Buss Electronic Signal Flasher 232.

Here is a picture of the flasher, just replace your regular small silver one with this and you wont have to splice a resistor in to the system.

Not if you use one of these flasher.

Robert
Yeah, I was just saying the "If you don't" scenario. As is just popping in a Canadian Tire LED special and using it as is.

Flasher seems like a cheap and easy fix.:icon_thumby:

Well any how I was reading through the tech library and seen that this flasher wasn’t mention as a different way so I wanted to add it and to me it just make more since to use this then cut the wires and splice in four resistors and in the long run if something ever happen and you wanted to use the old type light bulbs, you would have to re-cut your wires, and all that cutting could cause faulty wires.

Is the flasher in the fuse panel near the hood release latch?

I did a search for buss electronic signal flasher and didn't really get anything.

I did look on summit at turn signal flashers and found this one that looks similar:

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/GTE-44810/

But I do not know if it does the same thing as the one you posted. Could you post a link where I could find a electronic flasher to buy online that would work in a 91 ranger?
