Well I was close with my track bar mount. I need to move the frame end of the bar up about an inch. Other than that, the truck actually drives really nice. Very minimal bump steer given the angles are off a bit. It’s mostly noticeable when I change gears under hard acceleration.

Thanks!

They could use some spacers but otherwise they fit right on. I’ll most likely ditch them in the fall for some steelies and bigger tires. Debating on going back to 15’s or staying with 16’s. Tires are quite a bit cheaper for 16’s but not as many options for a mud tire.

I love thunderer m/t 10 plys. I run a set on my vw and will be getting a set for my ranger. They hold traction in ice, snow, mud. Haven't seen any chopout. Cost $960 installed. Clean out amazing and they eat. Diamond in the rough...available for 16" wheels. (I run teardrop 16s)

I got scared away from cheaper MT tires by the mastercraft courser’s I had. That was by far the loudest tire I’ve ever had and they would flat spot after sitting for a week or so. I’m happy with the BFG’s but the price does hurt.. a lot. Next set will be 35’s but I need to regear before that happens. The hybrid M5OD kind of spoils you and it’s made me lazy on regearing.

Apparently I got a little too drunk last night and hit Amazon hard. Ordered a different track bar without the bend at the top to clear the diff… in purple :icon_confused:. I also ordered the spicer diff cover to match the cover I put on the rear, a lube locker gasket and a rebuild kit for the transfer case. I also have gears in my cart for front and rear on RockAuto but apparently didn’t pull the trigger on those:iamwithstupid:.

I did move my track bar yesterday though. Truck really drives nice now. Also trimmed some more of the crossmember out. The track bar has smacked it a couple times.

You can also see why I ordered a non bent track bar in the pic below. The current bar is only a couple inches away from the sector shaft on the steering box.

What's the Hybrid? I looked for M50D Vs Hybrid M50 and only came up with R1 vs R2, and a garage sale https://core-shifters.com/pages/garage-sale

I need to make new buckets. The EB springs fit but they’re just a smidge to big. It’s on my list of things to address as well as upper shock mounts. I need taller ones so I’ll probably buy some f250 brackets when I get that far.

A Hybrid M5OD is a 4.0 case with 2.3 or 3.0 gears in it. 1-3 are lower in the smaller engine transmissions. In my situation, I had a 2.3 truck that I 4.0 swapped so I stuck my old 2.3 guts in the “new” 4.0 case.

I have an old Hurst ratchet I'm considering as an option. How easy is it to put a ratchet shifter on the m5?

M5OD is a 5 speed manual transmission.

There is a Hurst shifter for the m5od-r1 that has a longer lever arm below the pivot. Makes for quicker shifting. I put one in my low buck race truck.
