My credo
What's the worst that could happen?
Been dealing with a no start issue and have been told by TRS members of note (ronD) that it is the in-tank fuel pump. I haven't gotten into it yet to replace it cuz I have to drop the tank - not looking forward to that at all, but...
i have been poking around the engine bay and ran across this little number today:

It prolly has nothing to do with the no start issue, but it needs fixin' regardless. It'll be a pull yard part, but I'd still like to know what it is.
Thanks for any help.

HarnessPlug+2wireCable going to the KnockSensor mounted under IntakeManifold in the EnginV;
commonly get frayed or chewed on by rodents.
Also looks like you may have a cracked\leaking PCV VacuumHoseElbow just below that electrical connection;
also a NotoriousFailureItem; causes Fuel/Air TroubleCodes.

I've done a few things to this vehicle, but really nothing on the engine other than attempting to replace the plugs. The right rear is near impossible, you have to go through the wheel well.

This is my wife's favorite and it'll be put back in service this December when her current lease is up. So that means this is my next vehicle-related project.

Thanks for reply.

Yep, looks like she needs a little TLC to get back in good running order; meaning the SportTrac, not the wife of course!
