Do your best to be your best.
"Pushing into six-figure territory would be a significant jump for Chevy, which will top out just under $90,000 with the newly added High Country version of the 2020 Silverado HD just rolling into U.S. dealer showrooms now. But arch-rival Ford has come even closer with the Limited edition of its own F-Series Super Duty truck. A fully loaded one can run around $95,000 before factoring in taxes, delivery charges and other fees, as well as the many available aftermarket options."

If this continues I won't be able to afford a can of beans.

Pretty much why the can of beans I am driving now is 17 years old.

I was build/pricing new diesel 3/4 tons for giggles a bit ago, a 4x4 basically starts at $50k and Ford gets expensive a lot faster than a Ram.

I can roll a brand new, regular cab, 6.4L hemi equipped 2500 ram off the lot for around 34k.

A similar ford is over 40.

Now, if dodge would just offer a 6 speed with that 6.4L...

That FORD will last way longer than that DODGE, so 6k is for longevity. My BIL drives a single cab 2018 Dodge with a HEMI, boy does it scoot, but the fit and finish on the interior is awful, and he didn't even get the lowest trim, (no leather or pinstriping on the seats)

I don't think you can get that (manual) with the 6.7, at least not in a Tradesman.
You could last year. Maybe they dumped it this year.

The way my fords have treated me id say nowadays there about all junk IMO. Dodge atleast builds some stuff that gets your pulse up, and their trucks are sharp.

Id love an SRT challenger. But i have no justifiable reason to own one.

Im mildly excited about the bronco, but again no practical use, and the 7.3L gasser really has my attention. But theyll be outta my price range even used untill pry 2025 or so.

Fit and finish does not equal longevity.

I will agree somewhat though, Dodge still doesn't seem to have much figured out for rust proofing. Doorgaps and interior trim doesn't have much to do with that.

Every Cummins you see is either brand new or is over 200k though.

It's a fad... luxury pickups is whats "in".

Our shop 2014 F450 was over 70k used! We looked for months but nothing that could tow what we wanted came in anything less than full blown insanity luxury crap that drove the price up. Yay, ive got leather seats in a truck covered in scrap metal.

Man you coulda picked up an old IH 9400 daycab or something for 1/2 that. Plus it woulds been way more reliable for the long haul.

Great thought but no one has a CDL here... and pointless to hire a cdl driver to haul stuff we can all do with an f450. We've had 19,600 pounds behind that thing with zero issues.

Which if you think about it is another reason they can get so much $$$ for these trucks. Towing capacities that use to be waaaay outside of the realm of a regular driver are now obtainable for just an extra fee instead of proper training and licensing.

My business paid 70 grand to avoid needing a truck driver... I know your a trucker so dont take offense to that.

They are not towing more than was ever towed before, they are towing more than ever was towed before by a (insert ton rating) pickup.

And if you don't need that you still have to pay for it.

Back in the 90's if you wanted 20,000 pounds moved it was not an easy endeavor without an actual CDL. Or it was sketchy at best... non cdl trucks these days move what 35k?

But do you really want any idiot with 70 or 80k hooking up to 30,000lb trailer behind a 9000 lb pickup?

Yes. You do have a reason to own one.

The only reasons you'd have to not own one are that you hate cars, or that you hate freedom.

You are an active member on an automotive forum. Therefore, it is obvious that you do not hate cars.

Communist.
