I've been looking into wheels my truck for a while but I cant find a definite answer on some things.

First things first its a 08 Sport 4x4 Ranger with a leveled out T-bar crank.

Ive been looking to put some 15x8 Crager soft 8s on it with a 31x10.5 Goodyear silent armor

These rims

Question is I've read some people have caliper clearance issues with certain 15 inch rims, and some don't.

Yes I want to be difficult and not stay with the 16s because 15 inch stuff is a lot cheaper.

I appreciate any help I can get on this so I can just buy the damn things already. Thanks :icon_hornsup:

My credo
"220, 221, whatever it takes."
They will probably fit. No way to know for sure until you get them. The FX4 Level II came with 15" wheels stock. Ask Summit if they will take them back if they don't.

From what I've heard (I don't claim to know this as a fact) they will not fit unless you downsize your brakes. I wish I could fit a 15" rim on my 07 because that stuff is sooo much cheaper. But I'd rather have the stronger brakes anyways.

I think it was in 04 or somewhere around there that the brakes got bigger and Ford went to the 16" rim to clear them so you might be able to do a swap outta the JY.

I've got an 06 4x4 that came with steel 15"x7" rims & 12" brakes stock. I tried the Aluminum 15's from my 07 & they don't clear the calipers.

I did install some steel 15"x10" rims with a 4.25" BS without issue & am now installing some 15"x10" M/T Classic II's that also clear the calipers by about 1/4".

The rims that you're looking at are steel so they'll probably clear, but you never know?

Here's a pic of my 06 with the steel 15'x10's

Tee Rev,

How is your turning radius? Do the 15x10s rub any?

Almost all aftermarket steel wheels will work and clear the brakes. It's amost a none concern sorta issue when using steel wheels.

Two of my friends have '08 4x4's and both are running 15x8 steelies w/ 4" backspace, one of which is running chrome soft 8's.

And honestly....dont waste your time with 31's...get 32x11.50's.

'08 15x8 w/ 4" bs Crager Soft 8's w/ 33x12.50's.....cranked bars.

'08 15x8 w/ 4" bs Crager #441's w/ 33x1250's....3" bl.

I can still turn full lock to lock without any rubbing, but my tires are only 31" tall ..... 13" wide though! :D

Fx4wannabe thanks a lot man, that's all I needed.

Yeah ya think i should just go for the 32x11.5s?

And another question, I know i have to get new bands to put the TP sensors on the new rims, But did your buddys re calibrate there computers for the smaller rim/bigger tire? if so can a dealer do that or do i need a programmer?

They both rock the TPMS idiot light. lol. They didn't carry the sensors over. Ford Dealer can recalibrate for larger tires. Or...just deal with it...your speedo will read about 5-7 under with 33's. 32's will be far less of a difference.

Ah Im still torn between the 31s or 32s I don't want any rubbing. I Had a hand me down (Free) set of 285/75/16s on the stock 16x7s and the rubbed at full crank and rubbed when flexing. Took those off after a few months and put the stock tires back.

I think I ve looked at 10,000 pictures and read countless threads and i still cant figure out what to do.

I think you can get a better price for those rims from Jegs, like 39$ or something
