1984 2.8 b2 with 5sp "Toyo-Koygo" transmission.

my pop gave me his b2 because its "rebuilt" transmission was going out again.
when i got it i heard a tappity, tappity, noise only when the clutch was let out. clutch pushed in it is quiet. my pop thinks its a input shaft problem and said it still is under warranty, pull it and bring it to him to turn it in.

how ever when i pulled it and drained the fluid out atf came out and it was more silver then red.

now it is my understanding that atf only went in the m50d Manual transmissions and a gear oil was supposed to go in the toyo-koygos and Mitsubishi. would this void the rebuild warranty?

It could void the warrenty. But are you sure that the transfercase isnt leaking into the tranny since they take ATF as their lubricant.

Did the tranny come with fluid in it or did your dad put it in? If the place did it then its all on them.

well pop called today and said the warranty was out 6 months ago.....he left it with the dude to see what an estimate was on it to be rerebuilt by him.if it aint cheap or warrantied for 2 years i am not biting.... i will go the m5r1 m5od route.
