Actually IIRC it was chryslers "winged warriors" (superbird/daytonas) coupled with the 426 that raised hell in 1970, and ford and GM were crying and got them banned.They banned hemispherical heads in nascar after the boss engines started running... so yea I think ford beat mopar. Theres a good read called "when cars got to fast" about when the big blocks literally started lifting off the tracks like airplanes. It was during the mopar/ford wars.
It wasnt because of fords boss 429s.
