I have a 1994 ford ranger with a 302(347) that is track only. it had power steering but when I got the truck the power steering was off. the only thing I'm running is a alternator so I could not add a power steering pump. I put a manual steering gear box on it and it bolted up. the only problem is my steering wheel was not tuned right but I have a steering wheel that I can turn. the manual steering gear box came off a 1996 mazada 2300

Yes, please read your question again..............and maybe fine tune it.

To center the steering, turn steering wheel so front wheels are pointed straight.
Remove the Pitman arm from the steering box, not the tie rod.
Turn steering wheel from lock to lock, stop to stop, and count the turns(usually 2.5 to 3 turns), return steering wheel to it's center point(1.25 or 1.5 turns).
Hook up Pitman arm.

If steering wheel itself is not "centered" then it need to be removed and recentered, larger diameter steering wheel is, of course, better for manual steering.

it was not a question. I was just saying one off a mazada fit. I was told at the auto parts store there was not one that would work. I was told ford did not make a manual one in that year.

Ford and mazda were the same truck underneath the body for quite a number of years. I'm not sure but from 83 to 97?

===================
Same manual gear box from 83-97, 98up with a R&P wasn't available in manual, just PS.

I have a manual box from a 84 on my 94 & my Son's 93, but you do have to use the manual arm & steering shaft, as the splines on the shafts are different.

Mazdas 1994+ were the same as Rangers. The older (1993 and older) were completely different from Rangers.

Rangers/B-Series switched to rack and pinion in 1998. So Mazdas 1994-97 could have a manual box that will work, as well as any Ranger 1983-97.
