ok so here we go my 88 ranger has an 86 2.9 in it and it has problems it starts fine and will run fine until you put the pedal to the floor and there is nothing there the motor just seems like it shuts off. and if you keep driving it it gets worse it doesn't have any power and you have to run it 1/4 pedal to even move. then it will shut off and won't start at all. leave it sit overnight and it will start back up and do the same thing...anyone have any answers?

My 87 did the same thing, and it was my fuel filter that was clogged.
