Wasn't paying attention and posted this in another section.... Is there a way I can remove that post?
My friend's 06 Ranger 4.0 auto wouldn't start the other day. He claimed it had done that before and it was the crankshaft position sensor, according to the shop he took it to. Had it towed back to his place and we replaced the sensor, still no start. It would start/run if we kept spraying starter fluid in it. Noticed the door was locking itself every time he opened the door. The truck does not have an alarm on it. After I left, he said that he noticed a light on the dash was blinking. He said it's a lock and a picture of a vehicle(?). Don't know if it's just one light or two, as I never seen it myself.
Could this be a problem with the chip in the key? Told him to listen for the fuel pump, but then thought it might not work if it's got something to do with the keys security.
Is there any way to check the key? I don't even know if he has another key with the chip in it, as the key he used to open the door (after the door locked itself) was just a 'plain' key.
Any info would be appreciated.
