Hey I had a thunking noise and felt a definite click or slip in the steering when turning while stopped or at super slow speeds. I also noticed with a friend turning the wheel that the upper arm seemed to slip upwards on its mount at the frame sometimes. I took it in to a shop and they said it was upper arm and lower balljoint was shot. (this is driver side btw), so I took it to my mechanic and he swapped out drivers side and the new ones are greaseable. The noise was gone for a few weeks but is back now, and I noticed that the upper ball joint boot is torn on the passenger side.
Its a sealed unit so I assume its OEM, possibly the original one. I have 133,00km on the truck, and have just done shocks all around, front rotors and pads, rear pads, and rear axel seals when we did the locker.
Do you think shot balljoints and upper control arms would be the culprit?
