3.0 valve seals

i am replacing the head gaskets in my friends 3.0, the fel pro kit i bought came with new black oil seals for the valves. when i went to install them, however, they fit the valve stem very loosely. the old green seals, by comparison, fit very snugly. im thinking a loose fit wont seal properly, but i dont know, maybe the new seals will swell when the engine heats up, and thus form a good seal. any thoughts?

Depending on the year, the truck could either have 7mm or 8 mm valve stems, its likely the new seals you have from the kit are for 8mm stems and the truck has 7 mm valves like the later model year heads on it.
