Was Wondering If anybody Has used a 4.0 Torque Converter with a 88 2.9 Bronco II a4ld trans ?

I'm Asking because I bought a 89 2.9 B II Trans and the Stall Speed of the Torque converters are Different , And to add to that , I cannot Control Tcc Lockup , Therefore NO Overdrive , Which Is Fine As I do Mostly City Driving , But With 33" Tires And 3.73 Gearing The Stall Speed Sucks , Takes off very slow and Sluggish ,

Just wondering if anybody has used the 4.0 TC with the 2.8 or 2.9 a4ld trans ?

If so I was wondering if you took note of the Different stall speed and Rpm change between the two ,

Thank you in Advance ! :icon_thumby:

My credo
I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
I ran a 2.9l A4LD behind my 4.0l for a while. I would go with the 4.0l converter over the 2.9l. The stall speed was just too high, I really had to beat on it too get it to move like it did before.

Yes I noticed that and Do not Like it At All . I Don't have the time to do the swap right now and with Working in the Weather its not that fun this time of year . I plan to Put the Proper 93-94 A4ld So I will Have Overdrive , But Well see How long that takes me haha .

TCC lockup and OD are not the same. Loss of TCC lockup should not take out overdrive gear.

Sounds like electrical issues to me. The two things controlled by solenoids dont' work, tells me there is a power issue.

I've tried to Wire in the solenoid and that did not work . I have other threads on my BII trans in my 91 Ex Sport or Navajo .
