OBD2 was federally mandated for the 1996 model year. ALL 1996 vehicles have OBD2. Some had it before that.Usually anything after 1997 is obd2. That's when it became industry standard some cars were before that
False. My buddy's 97 F250 is still OBD1. I went round and round with him telling him otherwise until I looked at it myself.OBD2 was federally mandated for the 1996 model year. ALL 1996 vehicles have OBD2. Some had it before that.
There's always exceptions to the rule and his is it. But yea anything 96 and newer will be a 99.9999999% likelihood of being OBD2.False. My buddy's 97 F250 is still OBD1. I went round and round with him telling him otherwise until I looked at it myself.
Its a Heavy Duty package old body style with a 351W, only has 1 o2 sensor, and diagnostic plugs under the hood.

Thats because his GVW is over 8500 lbs ('96-97). Then in '98 the feds bumped the limit to 14K GVW.False. My buddy's 97 F250 is still OBD1. I went round and round with him telling him otherwise until I looked at it myself.
