So basicaly here is where I am at. I have an 8.8 31 spline with 4.10 gears. It is an open rear end. I plan on running 35's so I have ordered 5.13 gears and install kit. I want to use and aussie locker.

My questions are 1. will an aussie locker work with the 5.13 gears? and 2. should i install everything at the same time?

1. i dont see why not, the aussie replaces your spiders inside the carrier

2. i would wanna do it all at once, but you dont have to. since the aussie only replaces the spiders, you could set up the gears at one time, then go back a month or two later and install the locker

Ok, thanks. Iam pretty new to this whole regearing things. I think I will wait to install the locker. Just going to do the gears now, then after the proper break in period of the gears I install the locker. That way I can inspect the gears to insure all is well, and change the gear oil.

Yes it will work. You will want to grind a notch in the ring gear to get a full cross-pin in the diff.

I have the notched cross pin that was required for the gear set I got. Will this cross pin now work with the aussie locker?

No, a notched pin will not work with the locker and they're weak. Notch the ring gear and use a full pin.

Its a very tiny amount you have to grind off the very tip of the ring gear to get a full pin in with the thicker gears. It does not effect the gears at all and is in a spot where there is no tooth contact. The full pin is much stronger.
