My 84 B2 won’t crank but will run. I can start it with a short wire by sending 12 v from the positive battery terminal to the small post on the fender mounted starter solenoid if the ignition cylinder (no longer requires a key) is in the run position. Then, it runs and drives great.
When I turn the ignition cylinder, I am not getting power to the solenoid by way of the little wire that connects to the post. So it seems to me the issue is between the ignition cylinder and the starter solenoid. Is that a fair assumption?
The truck is 5 hours away on my deer lease so I can’t just tinker now and then. I want to buy parts that could fix it and install them next trip. What should I buy? I’m guessing the culprits could be the Ignition switch and the neutral safety switch. Anything else?
