Ok, so the tranny finally died, after a year of driving with no reverse the forward gears gave out several months ago. Now it is time to decide what to do with this Ranger.
Tranny tag says it is a: 87GT HAA 2
Have gotten a quote from RPA for about $1500.00 for a replacement tranny, with 3 year, 100K warranty.
Looking at the Ford transmission sheet, seems there are several different types of A4LD trannies.
Is there a better transmission available or should I just go for a direct replacement?
How hard are these to rebuild on my own?
What would you do and why?
Just looking at the best and most inexpensive way to get this truck back on the road.
Thanks in advance.....
