I just locked my 2.9 right up over the weekend in my 89 B2. I want to swap my 91 Ranger 4.0 into the B2.

1991 Ranger 4.0 with M5OD and 4x4

1989 Bronco II 2.9 prob with the TM trans and 4x4.

I want to swap the entire driveline into the B2 so the 4.0 and M5OD

Here is my confustion. I have read that its plug and play and also that its not.

If I take the ranger engine harness and plug it into the bronco cab will everything work?

For those years there really shouldn't be much of a difference if any.

depending on if your Bronco II dash is a Gen2 dash, which i believe non of them came with a Gen2 Dash, i believe they all came with the ones with wood paneling, aka Gen1 Dash. You would have to splice wires at the firewall. I have an article that will help you GREATLY on this swap.

Here is the Article:

Gen 2 dash. Same as the ranger. I need to repin a few things tho tail lights and rear blinkers plus wipers don't work so far. Neither does fuel pump. Im guna need to look into it more but this is NOT plug and play for anyone wondering.

why do you have to repin if you have a gen 2 dash. the BWP should be plug and play then.

Its not the same ended up repining a bunch of stuff not only in the big plug but other plugs going to the rear of the truck.

This is prob only plug and play on a 90 B2 to a 90 Ranger. And even than i would be surprised if it was a direct swap.
