95 T-bird Trans

I just traded for a 95 T-Bird with the 4.6 and auto trans, the trans is bad, only has reverse.

I was wondering, when I go to Pull-A-Parts, what all cars and trucks, can what years can I pull a auto from that will work with the 95 t-bird 4.6.


on a side not, I'm only fixing this car long enough till I can put the engine and trans in my 88 Ranger.

A 4R70W with only reverse probably needs a valve body more than a trans.

I'd pull the pan down and look for shrapnel before doing anything else.

what years would work, I have a Haynes book, that list the 89 to 97, so is that what years I need to look for ????

I know those years will work, but not sure when the year it was that the electrical changed...

OK, thanks.

the person I got the car from said that the trans was leaking, and they drove it low till it burned the bands up (or something), and then all it had was reverse, I checked the fluid when I got it home, and it looks good and it's at the correct level, but for 120.00 at Pull-A-Parts with a 30 day warranty, I don't mind dropping the trans and replacing it.
