I have a 99 Ranger, 4.0L, 2WD. For some reason, my ABS light is on and it has been on for over 4 months now. During this time, I replaced the speed sensor located on the rear diff as my speedometer went out as well. That fixed the speedometer issue, but the ABS light is still on. Just yesterday, I did the front brakes as they were needed. I replaced the pads AND rotors. ABS light is still on.

Can anybody give me some ideas as what to look at next?

Thank you in advance.

The R is for rear. RABS is rear only.

It's just like a "check engine" light. there are sensors and a computer that could be messing up. Plus the pump and module. It may be way cheaper to have it looked at.

Mine goes on when my wheel bearings go bad.

It means either the ABS computer is bad, or you damaged something in the ABS system with a hard stop at some point. Take it to a dealership and have them read the computer code. Cheaper than guessing with parts to fix it
