Working on my 91,4.0 spoder, cel has been coming on for couple weeks now. Wife was driving and it sputtered and died yesterday. Had to tow rope it home, which she didnt enjoy at all. Found that the fpr was bad and replaced it. Pulled codes w/ cel engine off and got 11 and 41 system ok and run lean 15 seconds or more. Also idling in park idle would fluctuate, put in drive no fluctuation. changed the maf . cured idle . cleared codes and went for a drive, at about 2.5 miles @45mph the cel came on again. Again code 41. Im thinking I need to change the 02 sensor/s. What do ya'll think? By the way, there was gas litterally dripping out the tail pipe. But I've ran it enough to burn it all out. Thanks Guys.

Carbon fouled plugs maybe. Pull a few out and have a look. It wouldn't surprise me if they are carbon fouled after seeing that much fuel.

Change the plugs and run some seafoam through the intake.

so I just degreased my arms after spending all the time since last posting changing the o2 sensor. I took one off another sploder I've got for parts. Cleared codes, took it for a drive (6 miles) and no cel. So we'll see when my wife goes to town shopping tomarrow, about 40 miles round trip.
