Unfamiliar with posting but this forum is great. Lots of interaction and information. One "stupid me" question. When continuing a thread (my build) is there a way to post a new entry in the thread to the top of that old thread? Better with engines than with computers.

"Edit" button on the bottom of each one of your posts will sort of accomplish that - you can simply add more to one post.

I am not aware of a way to insert more new entries other than at the chronological end of a topic. Some people will start a build thread and post several "placeholder" posts with no content and then go back and edit them later and fill in the details but that gets kinda messy.

For some reason I was thinking the member forum software only allowed post editing for a short period of time.

It's been awhile so I don't remember for sure.

Are you sure you want to do that? Folks read a story from beginning to end. They can also mark the thread as 'Watch' so they can follow along as new 'chapters' are written. It may accomplish the end-result you seek. Go with the flow?
