well... this probably won't explode.
Welp, I found my way back into a Ranger after 5 years! I ended up trading my 94 Ranger for an 02 F-150 from my dad. It was fine but it ended up blowing a head gasket so I decided to go back to my roots. Picked up my new Ranger last week!

2004 XLT, 4.0 V6 5-Speed manual 4x4
and only 96,000 miles! The perfect Ranger in my opinion!

Its in amazing shape for being almost 20 years old! Had it checked out by my local shop and the only issue they found was that the tires were absolutely ancient (date code is from 2001!!). But besides that and a couple minor things, it's in great shape!

can't wait to get it dirty!

Good looking truck...

One thing to be aware of... if you aren't already... is the 4.0L SOHC timing chain tensioners. By 04 I believe these truck engines had got updated timing chain guides and tensioners from the factory. But the chain tensioners should be considered a maintenance item.... and replaced @100K. There are two... one for each bank. Pretty easy to change and certainly worth the effort. I know @DILLARD000 has a good how to that he did.... maybe he will share the link.

Welcome to TRS...
